NGAC & the ARTS

Gardenland Northgate Neighborhood Association reached out to the #NGAC to create an informational video about the Ofrendas por el Dia de los Muertos tradition.

NGAC President, Amie Tokuhama, and her son David researched this seasonal tradition. They also share a personal story as they build their first altar.

More About NGAC & the Arts

The Natomas Garden & Arts Club is dedicated to promoting visual, spoken and written arts within the community. In the vision for a new permanent Center, this means incorporating a gallery and a space for local artists, writers and poets to read, display and sell their work. We also envision classrooms for creative artist-taught projects.

Until the center is developed, and during this current health crisis, the Club is committed to hosting creative arts events throughout the year on Zoom.

CHALK IT UP SACRAMENTO

Board President Amie Tokuhama-Chapman and her daughter Angela Chow have participated in Sacramento’s annual Chalk It Up Festival for several years, but since the Club’s inception have done so representing the NGAC.

MAKE ‘N TAKE EVENTS

The NGAC has hosted three Make ‘n Take events. At the first event in December 2018, participants created earrings and/or decoupage eggs. The two events at the end of 2019 primarily involved rock painting, but attendees could also decoupage fabric onto a switchplate cover.  All of the events were a lot of fun for everyone.  Here are some of the participants with their works in progress or finished art.
